Τα παραπροϊόντα μιας διαδικασίας παραγωγής δεν επωφελούνται από αυτή την εξαίρεση — εάν η διαδικασία χρησιμοποίησε υλικό που δεν ήταν απόβλητο, το προϊόν παραμένει εντός πεδίου εφαρμογής.
